The Vacaville
Unified School District is proud of their California State
Championship Wrestling Program. This program consists of three
levels. The Vacaville Wrestling Club provides youth wrestlers an
early introduction to the sport of wrestling. "The Club" offers
wrestling instruction for youths up to the 6th grade. Once in 7th
grade, the wrestler then has the opportunity to compete here at
Willis Jepson Middle School. The Jepson wrestling program gives the
young wrestlers their first chance to compete on a competitive
school team. The students become "student wrestlers" in the true
sense of the word. It's here where the basic principals of
sportsmanship, fair play, team and Vacaville’s wrestling values are
instilled and refined for scholastic competition. Vaca High and
Jepson Coaching staffs work closely to insure the compatibility of
the programs. We have a “NO CUT” policy. Unlike some other team
sports at the middle school level, students are never cut from the
team based on their skill, talent or ability to win. Although there
are no cuts, students can lose their spot on the team for academic
or disciplinary reasons. Team members must strive for scholastic
excellence and maintain a 2.00 grade point average. Team members
must attend practices on a regular basis. Team members must follow
the rules. The coaching staff is available to help solve problems.
call, email or visit the coach to discuss any issues. All of us here
at Jepson are very proud of the fact that this early introduction to
the sport, combined with excellent support and committed coaching at
all levels has produced great success for Willis Jepson and the
Vacaville High School Wrestling Teams. The Vacaville High School
"Bulldogs" earned the California State Championship Title in 2007. Many of the
members of that Championship team participated in the Willis Jepson
Wrestling Program. |
